Winter Workout Warning!

The snow will soon be deep and the footing treacherous. Tonight is the final evening of the week to get quality running in while outdoors with your friends. The rest of the week will have to be turned down to stay safe and go for distance.

We advise runners and triathletes to train all systems all the time, with a different focus on intensity or duration, depending on your personal training calendar. Tonight’s workout is focused on highly aerobic tempo running, building time spent near 1/2 marathon or 10k paced running. The duration of the tempo interval can be adjusted to each runner’s current fitness and pace.

All abilities are welcome and the workouts are written to be adjusted to each runner’s individual needs. They are time based intervals or hills that aim to leave no runner behind. Whether you are training for a sprint tri race series or this year’s late summer DXA2 run, or even a fall marathon, you can benefit from this training. Workouts are based at a local track or hill and start from AARC at 6pm. This allows runners to bring along a drink and drop it at the workout location. Please note that AARC closes at 6pm.
